2023 Vintage at Marri Wood Park

At Marri Wood Park, the 2023 vintage has been characterised by splendidly mild weather and exquisite fruit concentration.

We saw a slightly later harvest compared to previous years, and while overall berry weights were slightly down, the flavour intensity we are seeing is remarkable. The synchronicity between the bush and the Marri Wood Park vineyard is a unique feature of the site so, it was anticipated that overall yields from the vines would be lower, because the bush was not producing a lot throughout the season.

The lack of marri blossom was evident early on, and a signal of the fruit yields to come. On the ripening front, the relatively mild and dry growing season we experienced was entirely in our favour and is producing wines with great depth, balance, and complexity.

The absence of rain downpours allowed exceptional fruit flavours and concentration to develop across varieties, with excellent ripeness levels and flavour development in the grapes.  We are expecting it to be a standout vintage for Marri Wood Park and the greater Margaret River wine region.
